: Palani of Q-Lounge on Monday defeated Sajiv Mathew (Towers Club) by three frames to two in the round of 64 in the Q-Lounge All-India open snooker championship 2019 here.
A match of fluctuating fortunes saw Palani winning the first and third frames and surrendering the second and fourth before easing home in the decider to set up a clash with the India no.2 Laxman Rawat.
Palani won 24-49, 73-21, 66-15, 19-68, 60-27.
In other close matches, Yazer of Q-Ball City beat Sasi Kumar (TNBSA) 3-2 while Vinay Kothari (SVS Club) beat Johny of Cue Zone by a similar margin.
