Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas will meet US President Barack Obama next month to discuss the progress in the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, the White House said today.
"The President looks forward to reviewing with President Abbas the progress in the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations" during the meeting on March 17, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said.
Palestinian Authority President Abbas and Obama will also "discuss our continuing effort to work cooperatively to strengthen the institutions that can support the establishment of a Palestinian state", Carney said.
