In restricted activity, palmolein oil prices eased by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today owing to subdued demand from retailers at prevailing levels.

However, linseed and castor oils in the non-edible section, moved up on increased offtake by consuming industries.

Traders said muted demand from retailers, mainly led to decline in palmolein oil prices.

In the national capital, palmolein (RBD) and Palmolein (Kandla) oils shed Rs 50 each to Rs 5,500 and Rs 5,450 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, in the non-edible section, linseed oil moved up by Rs 50 to Rs 8,800 per quintal on increased demand from paint industries. Castor oil also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 9,950-10,050 per quintal.
