Palwal-Mathura rail section restored, special train to clear

Railways today restored a few trains after Jat agitators cleared the blockade on Palwal- Mathura section and also pressed into service a special train from Jammu to facilitate movement of stranded passengers.

According to a senior Railway official, one unreserved special train with 24 coaches was pressed into service to faciliatate travel of passengers from Vaishno Devi shrine to New Delhi today.

The special train started its journey at 8.30 pm from Jammu with stoppages at Pathankot, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Ambala, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Ghaziabad stations.

The Palwal-Mathura rail section earlier blocked by agitators has been cleared and about dozen trains including Bangalore Rajdhani, Bhopal Express, Hyderabad Dakshin Express, Pondicherry Express have resumed service.
