Panasonic inaugurates refrigerator factory at Jhajjar

Panasonic India today inaugurated its maiden refrigerator factory in Jhajjar, Haryana to strengthen its position in the segment in the coming years.

The company has invested Rs 115 crore and the factory situated at its Technopark manufacturing facility in Jhajjar has an annual production capacity of 5 lakh units approximately, Panasonic India said in a statement.

With this, Panasonic has expanded its local production portfolio for the appliances business here as it manufactures kitchen appliances and televisions, air-conditioners as well as washing machines.

Commenting on the development Panasonic Corporation CEO of Appliance Company and Senior Managing Executive Officer Tetsuro Homma said: "Panasonic Corporation has a very clear strategic intent, and that is to enhance its appliances portfolio for which India has been identified as a developmental hub."
 

Panasonic India President and CEO Manish Sharma said: "This is a historic moment for Panasonic. Internationally this plant will be one of the key contributors to the appliances portfolio, offering innovation through extensive research and development."

Panasonic today also announced launch of its new range of Experience Fresh frost-free refrigerators, manufactured in the newly launched factory.

The introductory range offers 10 models in 336L and 307L priced between Rs 35,650 to Rs 42,150.
