Panchayat clerk held for taking bribe

Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau in neighbouring Baran district of Rajasthan today arrested a panchayat clerk for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 23,000 in Kishanganj village.

Ram Lal Kumar has demanded the bribe from a farmer for sanctioning subsidy amount under a special scheme of the state government for constructing stone walls and erecting fencing around the agriculture land, Neeraj Gupta, Baran cirle incharge of the ACB, said.

The farmer Chothmal Meena complained to the ACB on May 29, stating that the clerk demanded a bribe of Rs 23,000 from him.

A trap was laid and Kumar was caught while taking the bribe from Meena, Gupta said.
 

He said the accused clerk would be produced before the ACB court in Kota tomorrow.
