Three assailants shot dead Bathna panchayat committee member Gita Devi's husband Dinesh Chandra Yadav late last night while he was downing the shutters, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Manoj Kumar said.
Political enmity appeared to be the motive behind Yadav's murder, he said.
A murder case has been registered against the three anti-socials, the DSP said.
Meanwhile, the villagers blocked NH-28 for several hours to protest against the murder of Yadav, he said.
