Panchayat member, another person shot at in marriage party

Two persons including a panchayat member sustained bullet injuries after unidentified miscreants opened fire in a marriage party at Soba village under Hydernagar police station of Palamau district, police today said.

The miscreants opened fire targeting the panchayat member Sunil Kumar Singh, who sustained bullet injuries in the chest, while another person identified as Mukesh Chandravani sustained splinter injuries at the marriage party last night, police said.

Both the injured were admitted to the primary health centre in Hydernagar but doctors referred Singh to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi, where his condition was stated to be serious.

Investigation was on and no one has been arrested so far in connection with the incident, the police added.
