Panchayat official arrested by the ACB for accepting a bribe

A Divisional Panchayat Officer serving at Bhongir town of Nalgonda district in Telangana was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 today.

The panchayat officer was caught red handed by ACB officials when he allegedly demanded and accepted Rs 50,000 as a bribe from a complainant for an official favour, an ACB release said here today.

After the bribe amount was seized, the accused officer was arrested and he would be produced before an ACB court here, the release said.
