With the district
authorities reporting on snatching of ballot boxes and ballot papers in certain places during panchayat election, the State Election Commission today announced fresh dates of re-poll in 62 booths spread over 11 districts.
The re-pollings will be held in the districts of Balasore (2 booths), Bhadrak (4), Boud (4), Cuttack (16), Dhenkanal (1), Jajpur (5), Kendrapara (11), Koraput (4), Nuapada (1), Puri (13) and Sundergarh (1).
The repolling will take places on February 18, 19, 20 and 21, said SEC secretary Rabindanath Sahoo adding that the entire polling process to be completed by February 21.
He said the re-poll was ordered by SEC Rabi Narayan Senapati after district collectors formally reported disturbance in holding polling like ballot box loot.
