Delhi Police is examining the allegation by AAP leader Dilip Pandey that a city police van driver tried to "mow him down", as it has received cross- complaints in the matter.

Pandey, convener of the party's Delhi unit, yesterday alleged that a Delhi police bus tried to run him over outside the Rajinder Nagar police station last night where protesting AAP volunteers were detained.

We have received complaints from both the parties, including the van driver and examining the charges in them, said a senior police officer.

The AAP leader has demanded a case to be registered against the van driver for trying to allegedly murder him. The head constable driving the police van has alleged that he was beaten up by the AAP workers, the officer said.

Senior officers of Delhi Police discussed in a meeting the cross-complaints and the possibility of registering cases.

Pandey said, "I had gone to Rajinder Nagar police station to enquire about the detained volunteers. At around 10.30 PM while I was talking to the media outside Rajinder Nagar station, a Delhi police bus tried to run over me but one volunteer pushed me aside."

He had filed a complaint at the police station after the alleged incident.

The van driver in his complaint has alleged said that he was beaten up by AAP workers and demanding their arrest. He added that the van was parked on one side and it moved a short distance when he tried to start it.
