Pandey takes charge as UP chief secretary

Newly-appointed Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Anoop Chandra Pandey took charge here today.

Interacting with reporters after assuming the charge, Pandey, a 1984-batch IAS officer, said: "My priority will be to give pace to various developmental works in the state government and ensure their completion as per laid down standards, quality and within the stipulated time."

Pandey said resolving people's grievances would be his priority. "The benefits of various schemes will be made to reach the lower strata (of society) by making the bureaucracy answerable," he said.

He said feedback on grievance redressal will be obtained.

The chief secretary said "efforts will be made to make employment opportunities available to youngsters and double the income of farmers by giving them fair price for their produce.
