The expert committee set up by Andhra Pradesh Government to assess the ongoing works under Krishna and Godavari delta modernisation programme will submit a report in a week, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao today said.
The panel members have already visited East Godavari and West Godavari districts, which come under the delta, and interacted with farmers and people representatives to collect their views on the programme, he told reporters here.
Rao said the committee is now visiting Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts.

Both Godavari and Krishna delta modernisation schemes were launched about 7 years back and about Rs 3,000 crore each on them had been spent but the progress has been very slow, he maintained.
Not even 10 per cent of the works have been completed but the contractors have been benefiting by enhancing the work estimates, the Minister said.
