A meeting of the National Committee (NC) to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru today decided to set up a National Implementation Committee to carry out various activities including production of documentaries and developing a portal on the first Prime Minister of India.

The committee, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and attended by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, deliberated upon a number of proposals such as organisation of exhibitions, seminars across the country, completion of selected works of Nehru and renovation of the Nehru Memorial Museum, according to a release here.

The details and implementation of these decisions will be worked out through a National Implementation Committee which will be set up, the statement said.

Speaking on the occasion, Singh said that the 125th birth anniversary of Nehru should be celebrated in a most befitting manner especially with a focus on inspiring the younger generation of his life, achievements and contribution, both nationally and internationally.
