Panic as panther enters central excise office in Bhiwadi

Tax officials at the central excise office in Bhiwadi town of Alwar district were in for a surprise today when a panther checked in.

Panic stricken officials ran for life inside the office campus and made calls to the police and forest department.

Forest officials rushed to the spot but the animal then moved to a nearby godown, the police said.

"A rescue operation is on to catch the animal, which has entered a godown. It has not harmed anyone so far," SHO, Bhiwadi, Mahaveer Singh said.

On Tuesday, a panther had entered into an under- construction shopping complex in the Sikar district of Rajasthan.
 

It was later tranquilised by a forest department team and released in the forest area in Patan in Sikar district.
