'Panipat coach factory will speed up development, create jobs'

Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal today said the proposed rail coach factory in Sonepat, announced in this year's Rail Budget, will fast pace the process of development in the region and create new jobs.

The factory will bring in employment opportunities in the neighbouring districts too, as the ancillary railway units will be set up there for the supply of spare parts.

Bansal, who was here was here to flag off the Rohtak-Delhi MEMU train, said the three new railway lines proposed in this year's budget will change the face of the state.

The work of Meham-Hansi Rail line will start soon, he added.
 

Bansal said Railways does not operate to make profits, but it needs money to provide amenities to passengers besides creating necessary infrastructure like flyovers, underpasses and railway signals.

In his address, local MP Deepender Hooda said the state, which did not get a single railway project in 30 years, got a number of such projects in last 8 years.

The Rohtak-Delhi MEMU train will start daily at 7.00 AM. from Rohtak and will reach Delhi railway station at 9.15 AM.

On return, it will start from Delhi station at 3.50 PM to reach Rohtak at 6.20 PM.

The train will have a total of 15 stoppages.
