An organisation representing Kashmiri Pandit community today welcomed the United Nation's (UN) decision of not intervening in the Kashmir issue.

"Panun Kashmir welcomes the recent move of the United Nations in refusing to accede to the request of Pakistan to intervene in the Kashmir issue", Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President of Panun Kashmir said.

"United Nations has consistently refused to mediate in the Kashmir issue in the past also", Chrungoo said.

He said several former General Secretaries of the United Nations have been advising Pakistan to settle issues with India bilaterally.

"Pakistan refuses to see the writing on the wall and if any window of opportunity for bilateral talks is available that is also closing fast," he said.

"Panun Kashmir also welcomes the position taken by the Indian representative in the United Nations that Pakistan need to stop the export of terror from the territories under its control into India," Chrungoo said.
