Senior RJD leader Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav today assailed BJP and RSS of trying to derive political benefits out of the 'love jihad' campaign.

Through the episode concerning Tara Sahdeo and Ranjit Kohli alias Rakibul Hassan in Jharkhand, the BJP and RSS were trying to give a communal colour to the incident to derive political benefits, Yadav told reporters.

Questioning BJP's sincerity towards Hindus, the RJD MP from Madhepura asked why didn't they encourage inter-caste marriage among dalits and extremely backward castes.

"By marrying their wards in the dalits and extremely backward castes the BJP and RSS shall set example in the society," he said.

On BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi targeting former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in medicine scam case in Bihar, Yadav came in defence of Kumar saying there could have been fault on part of officials but raising question on the honesty of Kumar was not justified.
