The Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs Pradip Bhattacharya today met Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and discussed key issues.
According to an official release, Gogoi asked Bhattacharya for necessary recommendations for police modernisation in the state.
"The Chairman also said that he would make necessary recommendation for a security hub in Guwahati considering the city being the nerve centre of the entire North East," it added.
Several other important issues like subsidy for industrial set-ups in Assam came up during the meeting, the statement said.
