The Sports Ministry has appointed Sports Authority of India Deputy Director Ajit Singh as Government Observer at the annual general body meeting of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), where the elections for the new office-bearers would be held, here tomorrow.
"International Paralymnpic Committee (IPC), to which PCI is affiliated, has directed that elections for the posts of office-bearers and executive committee be held at this meeting," Satyanarayana, PCI Executive Officer, said in a release.
Former India athlete and IRS official Rajesh Tomar will be contesting to take over from Sultan Ahmed, MP and former Minister of Tourism, as PCI President.

"I am looking forward to creating greater awareness about Paralympic sport in India while ensuring that our athletes get the best possible training and competitive exposure to be able to contest at the highest level," Tomar said.
"I am confident that we will be able to work together to ensure that these goals are met."
London Paralympics 2012 silver medallist H N Girisha, Devendra Jhajheria and Dronacharya award-winning coach Satyapal Singh would be special invitees for this meeting where the future development programme will be finalised.
