Parasnath hills to get a facelift soon

World famous Parasnath hills in Giridih would soon get a facelift as a team headed by DGP D K Pandey today listened to suggestions placed by the local people on its development.

The Jharkhand police chief said that 35 villages around Parasnath hills are selected for development and the team listened to improvement of basic amenities in the areas.

Stating that the departments concerned are concerned to develop the tourist spot expeditiously, Pandey said Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba would visit the area next Saturday.

Satyandra Jain, one of the persons who attended the meeting, said the locals highlighted speedy development of roads, electricity, banning liquor and non-vegetarian food, making available drinking water, refreshment facilities and toilets along the Parikrama path among other points to give the Jain pilgrim centre a fillip.
 

Besides the DGP and Giridih Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Verma, ADG (Operation) S N Pradhan, ADG (Jharkhand Armed Police) K N Chowbey, IG (STF) R K Malik, IG (CRPF) R K Mishra and IG (Bokaro Zone) Tadasha Mishra were the officials present in the meeting.

Today's meeting comes days after the government pledged in the state assembly that it was committed to renovate and develop several tourist spots in the state.
