The petition claims the children, who are state level gold and silver medallists, are being discriminated and are victims of rivalry between two groups of Taekwondo Association of Maharashtra.

"Two groups within the Taekwondo Association of Maharashtra are at loggerheads. Due to this rivalry each group uses their political influence to promote their own children. Because of this the deserving children who have won gold and silver medals in state level games are suffering," the petition claims.

According to the petition, the children want to participate in the 32nd National Junior Taekwondo Championship at Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh to be held from November 18 to 21.

"As per rules, those children who have won gold and silver medals in state level championships are entitled to play national and then international games. However, these 20 children were not allowed to enrol for the national level game to be held in Arunachal Pradesh," petitioner's advocate Pranjali Joshi said.

The matter was mentioned before vacation judge A M Thipsay who has posted it for hearing tomorrow.
