The parents of a 22-year-old girl, who is residing with her music teachers, have approached the Delhi High Court seeking a direction to the police to produce her before a panel of doctors to evaluate her psychological conditions and to give them her custody.
A bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul today conducted an in-chamber hearing in the matter and asked the authorities, including Delhi government, to look into the issue and try to resolve it.
The parents told the court that the music 'guru' couple have entrapped their daughter by "exploiting her emotional and mental vulnerability" and they had "brainwashed" her due to which she had left her house after turning major.

"The guru couple took advantage of the girl's mental instability and had kept her in their custody forcefully," the petition alleged.
The parents claimed that the music teachers had tried to persuade them during 2008-2009 to keep their daughter but they "never thought that this was their plan for future to separate their daughter from them."
They also sought a direction to restrain the 'guru' couple from "unnecessarily interfering in the girl's life or disturbing the position of their daughter."
They also said that these teachers should not interfere into the treatment of their daughter.
