Parents of a 15-year-old boy, who suffers from a progressive disorder, have filed a complaint to the Commissioner for Person with Disabilities alleging harassment by the authorities of a government-aided school here.

The father of Anant Vohra, who recently appeared in his Class X exams, has accused teachers and administration staff of R B Ram Roop Vidhya Mandir Senior Secondary School in Gulabi Bagh area of harassing and mentally torturing his son.

"My son has faced harassment and mental torture in the school by not only teachers but also administration staff. I also approached the Directorate of Education (DoE) but nobody paid heed to our plea. Now, I have forwarded a complaint to the Commissioner for Person with Disabilities," Atul Vohra said.

While the school authorities could not be reached for comments, DoE officials said the complaint is being looked into.

Anant suffers from muscular distrophy-a hereditary condition marked by progressive weakening of the muscles, the father said.
