Parents stage protest against fee hike by pvt schools

Continuing their protest against fee hike by private schools in the city, hundreds of parents today staged a demonstration against the district administration for failing to resolve the issue.

Led by district panchayat member Babli Gurjar, the parents staged a march to the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Modinagar) K K Kumar demanding an immediate roll back of the increased fees in private schools.

The parents association also submitted a memorandum of demands to Kumar, who assured them that the issue will be resolved within a week.

A few leaders of state opposition Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) also participated in the march.
 

Irate parents have been protesting against "unreasonable" fee hike for several weeks now. They claim that the fee hike by private schools is unjustified and in violation of court orders.
