Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will once again be ruling Shiromani Akali Dal's (SAD) chief ministerial candidate in 2017 Assembly elections, his deputy and son Sukhbir Singh Badal said today.
"Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will be the chief ministerial candidate in the upcoming Assembly elections," Sukhbir said here.
Asked about handing over of the baton of organising polls to youth representatives in 2017 Assembly elections, Sukhbir said a number of youngsters will be fielded this time.
The 88-year-old was sworn-in as Chief Minister of Punjab for a record fifth time in 2012. Badal senior headed full two five-year terms from 1997 and 2007. His other terms were between 1977-1980 and 1970-71.
