Parliament today paid homage to the victims of the terrorist attack on the Parliament House 14 years ago and reiterated its resolve to combat the "macabre" designs of the perpetrators of terrorism.
Members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha stood in silence for a brief while as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives in the attack on December 13, 2001.
"Let us reiterate our resolve to combat the macabre designs of the perpetrators of terrorism and reaffirm our pledge to protect the unity, integrity and sovereignty of our motherland," Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said while paying homage to the victims.

He said the House joins him in paying homage to those killed in the terrorist attack and in condemning the incident in unequivocal terms and resolve to fight terrorism with firm determination and protect sovereignty and integrity of the country.
In the terror attack on the Parliament House, eight people, including, five security personnel of the Delhi Police were killed.
