The Goa Congress today accused Manohar Parrikar of being a "part-time" Defence Minister and said that he was more interested in issues concerning the coastal state than matters related to national security.
"Parrikar is a part-time Defence Minister, who is always focused towards Goa and the state level issues. By doing this, he has been neglecting the issues of national interest," Congress Goa spokesperson Sunil Kawathankar said.
"We will be writing to the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) stating that India cannot afford to have a part-time Defence Minister. The national security is of the utmost important," he said.

The Congress spokesperson said Parrikar should concentrate on the national security rather than speaking against Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch or former Goa RSS chief Subhash Velingkar.
