Parrikar greets people on Goa Statehood Day

Chief MinisterManohar Parrikar today greeted the people of Goa on the eve of statehood day and listed achievements made by the tourist state.

The Goa Statehood Day is celebrated on May 30.

The chief minister, in his message, said "On the occasion of the Goa Statehood Day, I extend my personal greetings and compliments to the people of Goa.

"Since attaining statehood in 1987 this tiny but beautiful state has progressed well and has made rapid strides in all spheres. It has also emerged as one of the most developed and fastest-growing states in India," he said.

Parrikar said, "Goa has emerged as a dynamic and progressive state - it has a high per capita income and its human development and social indices are amongst the best in the country."
 

The chief minister emphasised on inclusive growth and called upon the people of Goa to work towards further progress of the state.

"Let us, on this year's Statehood Day, put in renewed and determined efforts to take Goa ahead in all spheres of human endeavours," the chief minister said.
