Parrikar lands in US

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar landed in the US this evening for medical treatment, according to his office here.

"The chief minister reached USA at 5.30 PM IST today. He is fine and will undergo further treatment," the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said in a statement.

Parrikar, 62, left for the US at 1.30 AM today from the Mumbai airport by an Air India flight.

The former defence ministerwas accompanied by his elder son Utpal and a medical practitioner.

Parrikar was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on February 15for pancreatitis and was discharged on February 22.

On the same day he returned to Goa and presented the Budget in the Assembly, but the session was truncated to only four days owing to his illness.
 

He was again admitted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital on February 25 after he complained of dehydration. He was discharged four days later.

The chief minister went to Mumbai again on March 5 for his further check up from where he was referred to the USA.
