Parry Nutraceuticals, a division of EID Parry and part of the Murugappa Group, today said it received the US food & drug administration (FDA) approval for its organic micro-algae cultivation and processing plant.
The fully organic 600 TPA facility, located at Oonaiyur in Pudukottai district of Tamil Nadu, has received the establishment inspection report from the FDA following an inspection of the facility in July 2016.
"We are a preferred supplier of micro-algae health supplements for several leading nutraceutical brands in over 35 countries. This approval will further enhance our reputation as a leader in micro-algae technology," Parry Nutraceuticals said.

Speciality cables manufacturer CMI today bagged an order worth Rs 36.24 crore from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (Getco) to supply 66KV XLPE cables.
Cables for this order will be manufactured at the new facility in Himachal Pradesh.
"Currently over 12 per cent of our total revenue comes from the power sector and we expect that around 15 per cent of our revenues by 2019 will be from this segment. Our latest order from Getco is another feather in our cap and we are going from strength to strength here," CMI chairman Amit Jain said.
