Parts of Himachal Pradesh receive heavy rains

Heavy rains lashed parts of Himachal Pradesh while most places in the state experienced dry weather as monsoons remained subdued, MeT department officials said today.

The sky remained heavily overcast in Shimla and in surrounding places.

Sundernagar and Gaggal received 75 mm rainfall. Dharmshala received 52 mm rains, Nahan 20 mm, Mandi 11 mm and Sunibhajji 10 mm. Shimla and Jhandutta received 9 mm rains each and Pandoh recorded 8 mm rainfall, officials said.

The mercury rose by a few notches in the lower hills. Una in the Shivalik foothills had maximum and minimum temperatures of 35.3 degrees Celsius and 26. 2 degrees Celsius respectively.
 

Bhuntar recorded a high of of 31.2 degrees Celsius followed by Nahan 29.5 degrees Celsius, Solan 29.7 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 28.2 degrees Celsius, Manali 25 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 24 degrees Celsius and Shimla 22.1 degrees Celsius.

The MeT office forecasts rains and thundershowers at isolated places at lower, mid and higher hills over the next six days.
