Some areas of Odisha are likely to witness rain and thundershower in the next 24 hours under the impact of a depression concentrated today over the Bay of Bengal.
The low pressure area marked yesterday over the east central, adjoining west central and south east Bay of Bengal concentrated into a depression, the Met office here said.
The system, which lay centred about 700 km near south-south east of Paradip, is likely to move and cross Bangladesh coast around May 30 noon.

It is likely to intensify into a deep depression during the next 12 hours and a cyclonic storm during the subsequent 24 hours, it said.
Under its influence, rain and thundershower may lash some areas of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
It issued advice for hoisting Distant Cautionary Signal No. One (DC-I) at Paradip and Gopalpur ports in the state.
