Several parts of Punjab and Haryana today received rains even as minimum temperatures hovered above normal level in both the states.
Rain was witnessed in Chandigarh (0.1 mm), Hisar (0.3 mm), Karnal (0.5 mm) and Patiala (1mm).
Amritsar in Punjab which registered a low of 4.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, was the coldest in both the states, the MeT Department said.

Chandigarh, recorded a low of 10.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
In Haryana, Karnal and Narnaul registered a low of 9 degrees Celsius and 9.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
The minimum temperature in Ambala was 11.1 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded a low of 11 degrees Celsius.
As per MeT department forecast, rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana over the next 24 hours.
