Parts of Punjab, Haryana receive rains, temp drops

Parts of Punjab and Haryana received scattered rainfall today as temperature in the region registered a slight drop.

The maximum temperatures hovered between one to two degrees below normal in the two states, Meteorological department said.

While Ambala received 10.9 mm of rainfall, Patiala got 10.1 mm of rains. Chandigarh had 3 mm rains followed by 2.2 mm at Amritsar and 1.6 mm at Ludhiana.

Hisar was the hottest place with a high of 36 deg C.

Among other places, the maximum temperature settled at 35.2 deg C in Amritsar, 34.8 deg C at Bhiwani, 33 deg C at Patiala, 32.5 deg C at Ludhiana.
 

The maximum temperature at Ambala was 32 deg C, one notch below normal, while Chandigarh settled at a high of 31 deg C, two notches below normal.

The Met predicted light to moderate rainfall at a few places in the region during the next 24 hours.
