Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said Lok Janshakti Party will continue to seek reservation for SC/STs in private jobs to ensure proper representation of all sections of society everywhere.
"Our party (LJP) maintains that there should be reservation in private jobs. It is a different matter whether this is done through law or (companies do it through their) affirmative action," The Union Food and Consumers Affairs Minister told reporters here.
"The government's approach is that companies should take affirmative action. It is fine that you don't give reservation in Class I or Class II jobs, but at least make some representation in Class III and Class IV jobs," the LJP president said.

Paswan said such an action was required to take all sections of the society together and give them representation everywhere.
"Why is there Naxalism? The reason is that a villager's land is snatched to excavate coal and gold and he is asked to go. So the youth take the wrong path. To make society strong, every section should have proper representation, which is why reservation in private sector is required," he said.
