Former BSP leader Brajesh Pathak, who was on his first visit here after joining BJP, was today accorded a grand welcome by the leaders and workers at the party headquarters.

Welcoming him, state BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Pathak has strengthened the motto of 'sabka saath, sabka vikas' by joining the party.

Maurya also lashed out at the Samajwadi Party government, saying, under it, land mafia was calling the shots and its lone motto was to grab the vacant plots.

While terming BSP supremo Mayawati's rally in Azamgarh today a "flop show", Maurya claimed that the BJP will form its government after the 2017 Assembly polls and make the state free from BSP and SP.

Pathak said people have a lot of expectations for the development of the country from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Pathak had joined BJP on August 22.
