Thousands of patients who visited Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital in the city today faced discomfort with the doctors going on strike against alleged manhandling of a doctor and nurse by a patient's relatives.
The resident doctors of the hospital went on strike last night after the relatives of a patient who was admitted in male medical ward, allegedly manhandled the resident doctor on duty and misbehaved with the female nurse, Dr R S Meena, Superintendent of Maharao Bheem Singh hospital said.
The patient died in serious condition but the family members levelled allegations of carelessness and negligence upon the medical staff and created a scene in the hospital, Meena said, adding no complaint has been lodged in the matter.

Negotiations between the resident doctors and Kota medical college administration are going on and the doctors are expected to return to work soon, he said.
Professors, assistant professors and senior doctors of the medical college have been called to assist and take care of the patients in MBS during emergency hours, Meena said.
The resident doctors are not on strike but have refused to work until their security concerns are sorted out, Principal of Kota medical college Dr S R Meena said, adding the doctors would return to work soon.
