A video of alleged misbehaviour with some women at a famous Ganesh pandal here has sparked a controversy with Maharashtra Home minister R R Patil directing police to ensure that woman devotees are not harassed during the festivities.

The video showing a member of Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh pandal allegedly shoving away woman devotees has gone viral on social media websites, evoking sharp reactions.

The Home minister today directed Additional Commissioner of Police Pravin Salunkhe to ask Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh pandal members to ensure that devotees coming for blessings are not humiliated.

"I have directed the police to ask the Lalbaugh Ganesh pandal not to humiliate devotees. Care should also be taken that pandal workers do not misbehave with woman devotees," Patil told reporters here.
