The Patna High Court today dismissed an appeal by controversial RJD leader and its former MP Mohammad Shahabuddin against the life sentence awarded to him by a Siwan court in an acid attack case which took place 13 years ago.

The case relates to the killing of two brothers by drenching them in acid at Siwan in 2004 allegedly on the directions of Shahabuddin over a property dispute.

The appeal was dismissed by a division bench comprising justices K K Mandal and Sanjay Kumar.

Satish and Girish were drenched in acid and shot dead in that incident. The third brother Rajiv was killed when he was returning home on a motorcycle.

Their father Chandrakeshwar Prasad had approached the court for action against Shahabuddin.

A Siwan district court had awarded him life sentence in 2015 in the acid attack case.

Shahabuddin was shifted to Tihar Jail in Delhi in February.
