Issuing notices to the Samastipur DM and DDC, besides the aggrieved advocate and his client Jarina Khatun, Justice Hemant Kumar Srivastava directed the respondents to file their replies in the matter.
The advocate was allegedly detained in a police lock up last month on the charge of taking a bribe of Rs 30 for drafting an application of a client.
The judge posted the case to be listed for hearing after four weeks.
The court passed the order on a petition filed by five advocates of the Bihar State Bar Council.
An advocates' delegation also met the Chief Justice Rekha M Doshit and submitted a memorandum to her seeking transfer, suspension and department enquiry against the officials besides compensation of Rs 10 lakhs to the aggrieved advocate.
The bar also filed a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) praying for action against the DM, DDC and the SDM of Samastipur and compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the advocate.

A steering committee of advocates formed after the Samastipur incident on April 19, requested their agitating colleagues to resume work in view of the high court order.
It also decided to sit on a dharna outside the gate of the high court on May 11 to press for suspension and transfer of the officials.
