Patna residents to witness foggy morning; good sunshine later

Patna residents may get a respite from the cold as the Met office here forecast foggy mornings followed by sunny conditions later for next two days.

According to the Met bulletin, the maximum temperature of Patna was recorded at 20.9 degree Celsius against yesterday's 21.3 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 9.8 degree Celsius against yesterday's 10.6 degree Celcius.

"It was not a cold day in Patna and we have not forecast cold day for the city tomorrow. People will continue to experience the same weather conditions - fog in the morning and sunny day later - for next two days," a Met official said adding that the state capital's minimum temperature is expected to be around 10 degree celsius, close to its normal minimum temperature of 11 degree celsius.
 

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 21 and 10 degree Celsius respectively, he said.

Patna residents woke up to a dense fog this morning but good sunshine around 11 am brought relief from the shivering cold.

As per Met bulletin, tomorrow morning will be foggy or misty at Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea.

Temple town of Gaya recorded a low of 8.3 degree Celsius and a maximum of 24.7 degree Celsius, it said.

Bhagalpur had the minimum of 9.8 degree Celsius and maximum of 23.9, while Purnea registered minimum of 10.6 degree Celsius and a maximum of 25.8 degree Celsius.

Severe cold conditions were observed at Chapra while Muzaffarpur saw a cold day.

The lowest temperature of 7 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sabour in Bhagalpur district today, Met office said.

Cold day is declared when the minimum temperature touches 10 degrees C or low and the maximum temperature should be 5 to 6 degree celsius below from the normal (max temp).

Severe cold day condition is declared when the minimum temperature touches 10 degree or low and the maximum temperature should be 6 degree celsius below from the normal (max temp).
