Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today called upon policemen to rededicate in achieving high professional standards in scientific and impartial investigations so that victims get quick justice and criminals are punished.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the annual State Police Duty Meet here, Patnaik exhorted participants to use the professional knowledge gained from the Meet to the benefit of the people.
"Successful investigation of crime is one of the most important responsibilities of the police," Patnaik, who is also the state home minister and has been attending the Odisha Police's annual meet regularly for the past one and half decade, said.

The Chief Minister called upon the policemen of the state to investigate offences against women, children, and SC and ST people in a meticulous manner and on priority basis.
Giving away prizes to the winners of the three-day Meet, Patnaik also released a compendium of cyber crimes in the state published by the crime branch police.
DGP K B Singh and many senior police officers were present on the occasion.
