Patnaik keen to complete Info Valley-II project in Odisha

Noting that Info-Valley-II project would create employment opportunities for six lakh youths, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed officials to complete infrastructural works soon.

Patnaik gave this direction after an on the spot visit to the Info Valley project site at the outskirt of the state capital here.

Infrastructural work like road and boundary construction, electricity and water connection and communication facilities to the project site need to be completed before 2015, he said.

The Info-Valley project, being developed on 660 acres of land, will have an IT SEZ project, Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Business and Recreation Park and a Hardware Park.
 

The electronic manufacturing cluster (EMC) proposed to be set up at Info-Valley has already got in-principle nod from the Union Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY), said sources in the IT department.

The state owned Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), which is the nodal agency for the setting up of the Info-Valley project, has prepared a Rs 81.19 crore action plan for 2014-15 fiscal.

Sources said the estimated budget of the Info Valley-II project is Rs 151.11 crore, out of which Rs 69.92 crore was spent during the previous financial year (2013-14) and the rest (Rs 81.19 crore) will be utilised in the current fiscal.

Infosys, which was planning to set up its second campus at Info Valley, is the anchor tenant for the project.
