Odisha government today urged the Centre to expedite various National Highway (NH) projects in the state and a flyover at Khandagiri Square in the state capital.
Odisha's demands were placed before the Centre when Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi today.
Patnaik discussed road infrastructure issues and asked the Union minister to take urgent steps for early completion of National Highways in Odisha, an official release issued by the Chief Minister's Office said.

Patnaik also urged Gadkari to construct a flyover at Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar and at Gohira Chhak leading to Infovalley-2 near Khurda on NH-16.
The chief minister also urged the Union Minister to approve 30 eligible state roads of 2,483 km length as new National Highways as per proposals submitted by the state government in December, 2016.
Besides, he asked the Union Minister to finalise tender process for different NHs like the four-laning of Cuttack-Angul (NH-42), four-laning of Barkote-Panposh (NH-23), six-laning of Chandikhole-Balasore (NH-16) and four-laning of Chandikhole-Duburi-Talcher Section of NH-200.
"Gadkari said he will certainly see that all these projects are expedited," the official release added.
