Patwaris (Revenue officials) in Jammu and Kashmir today went on an indefinite state-wide strike in support of their demands, including removal of pay anomalies.
Under the aegis of the All Jammu and Kashmir Patwari Association (AJKPA), officials staged demonstrations and went on an indefinite strike demanding immediate fulfillment of their demands.
"We are aware about problems faced by the masses but our strike has been forced by government's failure to respond to our demands," an AJKPA spokesman said.
The Patwaris are demanding among other things removal of pay anomalies and recruitment of more Revenue officials.
