The state-wide strike by Revenue officials (Patwaris) entered the 29th day today, but Jammu and Kashmir government has not yet made any move to address their demands.
The protesting employees, who started their indefinite strike on April 8, are demanding removal of pay anomaly and its retrospective effect from the implementation of Sixth Pay Commission recommendation.
Under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Patwari Association (AJKPA), over 250 Patwaris assembled here and staged demonstrations against the government.

"We are aware about the problems faced by the general masses but our strike has been forced by government's failure to respond to our demands," he said.
They are also demanding recruitment of new Patwaris and appointment as Naib-Tehsildar of those who have qualified revenue executive exam.
