Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor of PAU, and R E Duveiller, Director Research, South Asia of the centre, signed the MoU on behalf of the respective institutes.

Under the signed pact, CIMMYT will award scholarships to enable MSc and PhD students of PAU to carry out research activities in conservation agriculture, Dhillon said.

The scholarship will initially be for a period of one year but extendable to a maximum duration of 24 months.

The students will work at designated CIMMYT adaptive research sites in collaboration with a scientist from the centre as assigned by the country Liaison Officer.

Dhillon said the partnership between the two institutes would nurture research skills and broaden the horizon of the students.
