"Love Song to the Earth", a charity song featuring renowned musicians Paul McCartney, Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie and Jon Bon Jovi among others, has been released.

The number has been recorded to support United Nations Foundation and raise awareness of climate change, reported Aceshowbiz.

The charity song was released on September 4, ahead of the UN climate conference, which will be attended by world leaders in December.

Proceeds from the song will be donated for UN cause.

Other musicians taking part in the star-studded project include the likes of Sheryl Crow, Colbie Caillat, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis, Sean Paul, Johnny Rzeznik, Nicole Scherzinger, and Victoria Justice.

"Many people turn a blind eye arguing that everything is okay environmentally. The song reminds us that having ownership of our world means taking care of it.

"With this song we wanted to talk about the environment in a way that would help people feel empowered to do something rather than be paralysed by fear," said Bedingfield in a statement.
