Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra
Saraswathi sanctified the new pavilion of the Kanchi Kamakshi Amman Temple at a function here.
Temple sources said the pavilion was built by Jayendra Saraswathi Platinum Jubilee Trust to mark the seer's 80th birth year, his 60th year of ascending to the pontif status and the 45th birth year of his junior Vijayendra Saraswathi.
A large number of devotees attended the sanctification ceremony yesterday.
